We arrived to Lisbon at
13:10 on the 3rd of October. My dear friend Gregorio and Anna were waiting for
us at the airport. We went to our hotel, left our luggages and went to the
school.
Escola Secundaria de Cacilhas Tejo
.
There was an offical
welcome for us at the school, students presented their presentations.
Then,we left school with
Gregorio. He stayed with us,showed us how to travel inside the city, and
escorted us to our hotel. Thanks him a lot.
At the hotel our friends
told us that they were told to make a preparation for a picnic and asked us if
we wanted to accompany them to shopping.

We met at school and
departed from school to Sintra. We visited the villages Palace, had our picnic
and were invited by two kind Portuguese Ladies to drink coffee.

relaxed in that green world paradise.

Discoveries monument,It was built to represent a three sailed ship ready to
depart, with important historical figures such as King Manuel I, poet
Camoes,Vasco Da Gama,Magellon and several other Portuguese explorers. We then
visited Belem Tower,It is Lisbons icon; a symbol of the Age of Discovery. It was
the starting point for many of voyages of discovery.
It was built in the
Manueline style. It incorparates many stonework motifs of the Discoveries.
Jeronimos Monastery was
our second route. It is the most impressive symbol of Portugalis Power and
wealth during the Age of Discovery. It was built to commemorate Vasca Da Gama’s
voyage. It is one of the great triumphs of European Gothic.
With much of the design
characterized by sculptural details and maritime motifs.
We took the bus
downtown. After the bus stopped, we walked too much that Aydın Gumus started to
ask for an ambulance or if possible a helicopter. But there wasn’t anthing that
we could do for him and he managed to walk up to St.George Castle. It overlooks
the city.We climbed the towers and walked along the ramparts for the most
breathtaking views of the city,St.Georges Castle can be seen from almost
everywhere in the city.
We left the Castle and
walked down the streets again,We were going to have our dinner at a Fados
house.
Fado is Lisbons’s soulful
sound,the countries national musical treasure.
We enjoyed it till 11.
